GSH Bearing Adapter Sleeve Mounting Guide
Applicable for: Radial insert ball bearings with integral adapter sleeve
-
Preparation
-
The bearing seats on the shaft and the outside surface of the adapter sleeve must be dry and free of grease.
-
Push the housing unit onto the shaft and align it with the fixing holes in the adjacent construction.
-
-
Securing the Housing
-
Bolt the housing to the adjacent construction using the appropriate fixing screws.
-
If the shaft is supported by several housing units:
-
Tighten the screws finger-tight only.
-
Carefully align the shaft to ensure it is straight.
-
Finally, tighten the screws securely to the recommended torque.
-
-
-
Tightening the Locknut
-
Tighten the locknut using two hook wrenches, type A according to DIN 1810.
-
The adapter sleeve must be held in place with the second wrench during tightening.
-
Refer to the table below for the correct wrench size and maximum tightening torque (MA).
-
⚠️ Do not exceed the specified tightening torque MA; otherwise, the operating clearance in the bearing will become too small.
-
Note: Tightening the locknut will slightly displace the bearing in an axial direction.
-
-
Securing the Locknut
-
Bend the tab of the tab washer into a groove of the locknut to prevent loosening.
-
⚠️ The seal of the bearing must not be damaged when bending the locking tab.
-
-
Dismounting
-
Bend back the tab of the tab washer.
-
Loosen the locknut a few turns.
-
Place the impact cap in front of the locknut and drive the adapter sleeve off the shaft seat with hammer blows.
-
Finally, unbolt the housing
