During the renovation of our façade at Papegøjevej, swifts were observed nesting in the brickwork. Our service employee Jesper therefore contacted nature guide Bo Tonnesen to get professional advice on how we could best take the birds into account when their existing nesting sites were closed.
It quickly became clear how important it was to create new opportunities for the swifts. The solution was to install nesting boxes – placed exactly where the birds had previously accessed the building.
Swifts are a fascinating bird species known for spending most of their lives in the air. They return to the same nesting sites year after year, which means that even small changes to buildings can have a significant impact on the population. In several places, the species is under pressure, partly because older buildings are renovated and natural nesting sites disappear.
At PTI, it immediately made sense to move forward with the idea. When we moved into Papegøjevej, we quickly saw the potential to develop the area with a focus on biodiversity and the idea of allowing nature to thrive. Since the beginning, we have worked to make the site more attractive to nature, and the nesting box project became a natural next step.
Instead of simply buying ready-made bird boxes, Jesper had another idea: Could we collaborate with someone locally to build them?
This is where Lærkely – a residential facility with creative and practical workshops – became an important part of the project. They were very interested in the task, and bird boxes are already something they work with. As a result, the project became not only a nature initiative, but also a local collaboration with social value.
Together with the nature guides, we also began looking at which other species could benefit from the area around PTI. The project quickly developed into a broader initiative with nesting and shelter opportunities for a variety of bird species.
Today, work is being done on solutions for swifts, starlings, redstarts, flycatchers, wrens and tits, as well as larger nesting boxes for species such as tawny owls, barn owls and kestrels.
The project is still under development, and we continue to collaborate with the nature guides to make the best possible use of the area – both for nature and for the species living around us.
At the same time, we hope our experience can inspire others to include biodiversity in everyday decisions. You do not need large natural areas to make a difference – even small initiatives can have a meaningful impact.
Open Throughout Summer – Reduced Staffing
/in UpdatesPTI remains open throughout the summer. However, during weeks 29 and 30, our warehouse will operate with reduced staffing due to the holiday season.
As a result, an additional day of dispatch time may be expected for stocked items during this period. If same-day shipment is required, please contact us in advance so we can evaluate the possibilities.
Please also note that our coating department will be closed during weeks 28 and 29. Consequently, powder coating services will not be available during this period.

Temporary inflation surcharge on Optibelt products
/in UpdatesOptibelt has introduced a temporary inflation surcharge in response to significant increases in energy, logistics, and raw material costs, combined with continued market volatility.
Instead of implementing a permanent price increase, Optibelt has chosen a time-limited approach that is regularly reviewed based on the development of global cost factors.
This means a temporary surcharge of +3.2% on all rubber and PU products (belts) will apply from May 1, 2026 to September 30, 2026.
The surcharge applies to new orders and may be adjusted or removed depending on market developments.

Flower mix included in all orders in week 17 🌱
/in UpdatesIn week 17, we are including a small addition in all orders from PTI: a flower mix.
The mix includes varieties such as cornflower, oxeye daisy, yarrow, chicory and wild carrot. These flowers are selected for their ability to attract pollinators such as bees.
It is a small gesture, but as the flowers grow, they can contribute to creating more life in gardens, along hedges, or in other green spaces.
We have chosen week 17 as it marks the UN Global Goals Week, where focus is placed on actions that can contribute positively – both small and large.

We Have Received Our ISO 14001:2015 Certificate
/in UpdatesOn 18 November 2025, we achieved ISO 14001:2015 certification – the international standard for environmental management.
From the moment we decided to pursue ISO 14001 certification until we had it officially in place, only one year passed. It has been a focused process where we have worked in a structured and documented way to implement an environmental management system and ensure continuous improvement.
The certification was carried out in cooperation with Valcert, an external service partner specialized in performing ISO certifications.
The certification applies to both of our locations in Tønder and Støvring.
Today, we were finally able to receive the physical certificate, marking an important milestone and a natural next step in our ongoing commitment to responsible operations and systematic environmental management.
Our solar power system is now in operation
/in UpdatesAs of January 1st, 2026, we have commissioned our solar power system installed on the roof of one of our warehouse facilities. The project has been completed as part of our ongoing focus on responsible energy use and efficient operations.
The system has a total capacity of 601 kWp and consists of 1,352 solar panels installed on the warehouse building, covering approximately 3,200 m² of roof area. The system is fully integrated into the existing structure.
The expected annual electricity production is estimated at 571,156 kWh. The electricity generated is used directly in our daily operations and supports, among other things, our forklift fleet. Looking ahead, the electricity will also be able to supply charging stations planned for installation in 2026 for employees and visitors on site.
Any electricity consumption not covered by our own solar production is supplied as CO₂-neutral and renewable energy based on hydropower. This is documented through climate certificates from Norlys.
The project was completed in collaboration with external partners and forms a long-term part of our sustainability approach and responsible business practices.

Our Opening Hours for Christmas 2025
